A 5mm thick foam used to cover heatseal laminates during pressing. This foam is only suitable for use in vacuum presses.
It is always advisable to pre-treat a new sheet of foam before using it on any work. All foam contains fire retardants and theses activate when the foam is heated. New foam needs to be heat conditioned in the press under pressure to cook it into a flat shape. Failure to condition your foam can lead to invisible memory marks being embedded into the foam’s surface. These can show up on subsequent jobs as ghost marks. If you would like more information on preventing this please feel free to contact us.
